Mahara organizes the first training workshop in Jordan on CSR & Sustainability Reporting

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Mayor of Amman Eng. Omar Ma’ani, Mahara; Professional Consultancies in Development, organized a specialized and internationally certified training workshop on CSR and Sustainability Reporting, in collaboration with specialized international trainers.

Members of the private and public sectors participated in a three day training workshop (The Accountability Project), where they were introduced to international reporting practices using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and AA1000, which will enable them to build organizational effectiveness through social auditing and sustainability assurance, enhance credibility of their reporting and demonstrate accountability to multiple stakeholders.

The workshop was sponsored by Greater Amman Municipality, HSBC Bank and King Abdullah II Center for Excellence as leading organizations in Jordan committed to the practice of CSR in Jordan. It aims to activiate the transfer of knowledge and expertise of best international practices towards encouraging organizations in Jordan to chart progress and outline their goals in the frame work of a sustainability report for all concerned stakeholders.

At the end of the three day training workshop, participants received a certification recognized by Accountability and International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA). Furthermore, based on the evaluation of the 3 day training workshop, Mahara plans to conduct series of similar workshops in Jordan.
